Hello! Welcome to the Racial Diversity page! Racial diversity is becoming more and more important in our schools and communities. We can be more inclusive by appreciating cultures, learning from experiences, and educating others about harmful stereotypes and acts of racism.

As students, we need to learn how to be respectful and stand up to racism. As teachers, we need to strive to give students of color more opportunities. Sometimes we don’t realize that our own behaviors and attitudes can contribute to ongoing racism. Some of us don’t know how to start a conversation about culture or even face difficult situations surrounding race. I think we can agree that all of us can be better. The wonderful news is that it is never too late to learn!

In this section, students and teachers alike can find great resources to help foster equality, respect, and inclusion when working with diverse students in film, theatre, and other artistic environments. In addition, these resources can help in all aspects of life. Some of these resources include practice scenarios, writing prompts, lessons, activities, handouts, articles spotlighting successful artists, and more! If you have any questions or comments while exploring these resources, feel free to submit them here!
