Hello! Welcome to the Students with Disabilities page. A disability is a physical, mental, or developmental condition that affects an individual’s activities of daily living. Activities of daily living can include walking, eating, talking, reading, brushing your teeth, combing your hair, tying your shoelace- the list goes on!

Sometimes disabilities can change or even limit the way an individual talks to others, eats, walks, sees, or hears. Other disabilities affect the way one is able to concentrate during a conversation or while reading a book. Regardless of what specific disability an individual may possess, it is important that we all educate ourselves and aim to be respectful and inclusive to everyone around us- especially when we’re working with students with disabilities!

In this section, students and teachers alike can find great resources to help foster equality, respect, and inclusion when working with diverse students in film, theatre, and other artistic environments. In addition, these resources can help in all aspects of life. Some of these resources include practice scenarios, writing prompts, lessons, activities, handouts, articles spotlighting successful artists, and more! If you have any questions or comments while exploring these resources, feel free to submit them here!
