Hey you guys! Welcome back to The Singing Studio. This video is a little bit different because it’s a review video. We are going to be looking at episodes two, three, four, and five. I’m really excited! I’ve created this really fun mashup for you guys. I hope it inspires you to go back and rewatch the videos, look at the supplemental videos, and really practice at home and follow along with all the exercises. So with that, I hope you enjoy today’s video.

Welcome back to The Singing Studio.

I’m really excited to teach you guys.

I am just really excited to finally start doing some exercises with you.

Hey you guys! Welcome back!

Episode 2: Our voice is an instrument!

Why is it important to take care of our instrument?

First, we need to make sure that we’re drinking a lot of water. Water is what’s gonna keep our voices hydrated and healthy. Second, we need to make sure that we have good breath support. When we have good breath support we will be able to produce the healthiest sound and the strongest sound possible. And finally, we always need to make sure to warm-up. If we warm-up correctly then that will prevent our voices from straining or damaging them.

Our voice has the ability to change the world! I believe that our voices have such a big impact on other people. I believe that when I’m singing I can use my voice to spread hope and goodness and kindness. And you can, too!

Episode 3: Just Breathe!

If we have good breath support then our voice is going to be so much more successful and our voice is going to be able to sing notes we never imagined and be able to strengthen and improve. I mean breath is just everything!

You need to have good posture. You don’t want to be too stiff and you don’t want to be slumped over. Make sure that your feet are firmly planted to the ground and that you’re nice and relaxed.

I want you to imagine that you have an inner tube around your whole body. And you want to pretend that as you’re breathing in that you’re filling up this inner tube. We need to breathe all the way through our entire body. We want to make sure that we’re breathing enough so that our lower back expands and our front side also expands. As I breathe in, my stomach and my abdomen, they expand! This is what is going to help us have that good breath support.

Episode 4: Wait! We gotta warm-up! Part 1

Warming up is going to build on that foundation of breathing and it’s going to help us have the best voice that we possibly can.

So when you properly warm up, it’s very important that we’re making sure we’re totally in check with our bodies.

Episode 5: Wait! We gotta warm-up! Part 2

I kind of wanted to review the goals that we went over in my previous video. So those goals that I sort of talked about were:

1: We want to have good breath support.

2: We’ve got to have good posture.

3: We need to make sure that we’re not putting any sort of vocal strain in our throat.

And finally, we really want to focus on making our sound open, forward, and bright.

Don’t forget to check out the supplemental videos!

And that is all for our episodes two to five review today. Make sure to like this video and I’ll see you in our next one!
