Bi Youth, or young people who are attracted to more than one gender, face higher levels of bullying than their gay and lesbian counterparts. While 60% of gay and lesbian youth have reported being teased or treated poorly at school, among Bi students that number shoots up to almost 70%. They are also far less likely to be out to family and friends compared to other gay and lesbian students. Bi youth have reported that their identity tends to be accepted less frequently by other people, sometimes even other LGBTQ adults and youth.

Think about some of the unique struggles that Bi youth can face compared to other LGBTQ students. Why do we think that they are less accepted in some ways than other LGBTQ students? How do we make sure that they feel accepted? What do we do when we hear negative comments from others or even other LGBTQ people? Write your thoughts in 1-2 paragraphs.
